Thirty Day Challenge - Day 10

AWAKENING TO REGRET
This is what the LORD says— he who made a way through the sea, a path through the mighty waters, who drew out the chariots and horses, the army and reinforcements together, and they lay there, never to rise again, extinguished, snuffed out like a wick: “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. The wild animals honor me, the jackals and the owls, because I provide water in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland, to give drink to my people, my chosen, the people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise.
— Isaiah 43: 16– 21

Day 10
Think.
Would you say that you are stuck in the place between wanting to start over and actually doing something about it?
Journal.
Identify the things that may be keeping you stuck at a point of merely wanting to start over. Is it not knowing what to do? Being too busy and distracted? Being too discouraged? Not having enough faith? Something else?
Pray.
“God, if you are real, make yourself real to me. Awaken in me the possibility that with you I could start over again.”

— Isaiah 43: 16– 21

Day 9
Think.
Do you think often about what will happen to you after death? What role does this wondering play in your desire to find God?
Journal.
Describe your beliefs about what happens after death and how people gain entrance to heaven. Identify any fears or doubts or questions you have about the eternal state that awaits you.
Pray.

“God, if you are real, make yourself real to me. Awaken in me the possibility that with you I could start over again.”

Thirty Day Challenge - Day 6

AWAKENING TO LONGING
As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God? My tears have been my food day and night, while people say to me all day long, “Where is your God?” These things I remember as I pour out my soul: how I used to go to the house of God under the protection of the Mighty One with shouts of joy and praise among the festive throng. Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.
— Psalm 42: 1– 5

Day 6
Think.
How does the world’s inability to satisfy your deepest longings make you want God more?
Journal.
Describe how dissatisfaction and desire have moved you along in your search to find God.
Pray.
“God, if you are real, make yourself real to me. Awaken in me the ability to see that you are what’s missing from my life.”
